Located in Solvang, founded in 1804, the mission was barely completed before it was largely destroyed in the 1812 quake (the rebuild completed in 1817). The campanario belltower photograph first collapsed in a storm, was replaced in 1911 and again restored (probably after Taylor’s photograph) in 1948. The three bells were cast in 1807, 1817, and 1818.

Santa Ines was never completely abandoned, and was home to California’s first seminary in 1844.
